Abs, ‘V-Cut’ Lower Abs Many people spend a great amount of time trying to attain the V-Cut look in their lower abs. I have learned from research and advice that obliques are probably the most important part of your body to achieve this look. There are two sets of obliques, internal and external. The external obliques lie above the internal and are responsible for our ability to twist and bend. Training the obliques will decimate the ‘love handles’ and tone your outer thighs. With that being said, obtaining the ‘V-Cut’ is ten times harder for women because their higher storage of fat in the lower ab regions, but do not let this discourage you ladies, you can do it. The exercise that targets the lower ab region are called ‘Russian Twists.’ The exercise is simple and can be done anywhere. (Following my posts you will see that this is a recurring theme, practicality) Here are the steps:

1. Sit with your feet on the floor and knees bent

2. Lean back to create a 45 degree angle from the floor, don’t let your back touch the floor

3. Hold your arms at a comfortable length from your torso with your fingers intertwined

4. Twist from side to side at a steady pace remembering to exhale when at the midpoint of the motion

For ab exercises, you can’t really put a number on the reps or sets, so do what you can and increase the intensity as you get stronger
